The Raleigh, N.C.-based hospitality management company achieved the goal via events, guest donations and selling a special Ukraine cocktail at 28 restaurants throughout July.
RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 2, 2022) — LM Restaurants, a North Carolina-based hospitality management company known for Carolina Ale House and 10 signature brand restaurants, surpassed its company-wide goal of raising $100,000 in July for World Central Kitchen‘s efforts in Ukraine by raising $141,715.
“At LM Restaurants, we believe hospitality is about being an army of goodness,” said Lou and Joy Moshakos, who founded the company in 1978. “Our LM family has a fighting spirit, and we are honored to support World Central Kitchen and their efforts in the Ukraine in any way that we can. This company-wide fundraiser is our opportunity to give the gift of enduring a little bit longer, for brighter days.”
The company’s fundraising efforts kicked off earlier this summer with a Taste of Ukraine dinner on June 23 at Vidrio restaurant, one of LM Restaurants’ signature brands in Raleigh. The event raised $10,000. Lou and Joy Moshakos decided to expand the company’s fundraising efforts across 28 of their restaurants. In the Triangle, guests helped raise the funds by buying a special Ukraine cocktail (100 percent of proceeds were donated) and adding a donation to their checks at sevenCarolina Ale Houses locations, and three other restaurants, including Vidrio and Taverna Agora in Raleigh; and a’Verde Cocina and Tequila Bar in Cary. The company plans to continue hosting fundraising events into the fall. Celebrity chef dinners are being planned at Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach in September and at Vidrio in November. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to World Central Kitchen.
